Election silence is being observed in North Macedonia today ahead of Sunday’s second round of the presidential election.
The two presidential candidates are Stevo Pendarovski, backed by the governing coalition, and Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, backed by largest party of the opposition, VMRO-DPMNE.
1.640 convicts, people with disability and the diaspora will vote today. Tomorrow, 1.8 million voters will head to 3.480 polling stations. Voting will take place from 7 am to 7 pm. The elections will be valid if voters’ turnout is at least 40%. If not, the country will hold fresh presidential elections along with parliamentary elections.
