Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had a meeting today at the Cyprus Presidential Palace with President Nicos Anastasiades.
Shoukry is taking part in a gathering with his Greek and Cypriot counterparts to discuss cooperation in a number of fields including energy, security and tourism.
The ministers will also prepare the ground for a high level meeting of the three governments (Cyprus, Greece, Egypt) in Cairo on November 8.
After the meeting, Shoukry stated that the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is looking forward to meet with Nicos Anastasiades on the 8th November in Cairo.
Regarding his meeting with the Cypriot President, Shoukry said that they discussed different issues on “how to improve relations with our greek brothers” and about “how to solve different problems such as the situations in Libya, Gaza, Iraq, as well as our involvement in the alliance against ISIS”.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister underlined that it was a very productive meeting, “where the Cypriot President expressed his desire to update the two countries’ cooperation especially on economy, something that will benefits both Cypriots and Egyptians”.
