The Albanian Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Commerce and Enterprise, Arben Ahmetaj, has received Germany’s support for regional projects and the role that Albania is playing.
During a two day visit to Germany, Ahmetaj had a meeting with vice Federal Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economy and Energy, Sigmar Gabriel (photo).
The meeting focused on economic development, the reforms undertaken by the Albanian government, the advancement of the Berlin process and the preparation of regional projects, a process in which Albania is playing a crucial role.
Minister Ahmetaj briefed Mr. Gabriel on the structural reforms that Albania is undertaking in the energy sector, pensions, territorial reform and that in the justice system. Ahmetaj said that the new economic model has started to yield its results.
On his part, Mr. Gabriel has praised the growing cooperation between the countries of the region, something which according to him, has been noticed through the consecutive visits of the deputy PM of Serbia, FYR Macedonia’s Economy Minister, Kosovo’s and Montenegro’s Economy ministers in Tirana within a period of three weeks. /ibna/
