European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is predicting a sustainable growth of the economy of Albania by 2,3% in 2015, in spite of the floods in the south of the country during the beginning of the year. This was announced on a published report “Regional Economic Perspectives”. According to EBRD, authorities boosted their efforts to reduce informality in the economy and in April of 2015, promoted the Council of Investments backed by EBRD. This council aims at improving business climate in the medium term.
EBRD is predicting a 3,3% economic growth in 2016, based on expectations for the improvement of the situation in the eurozone and the start of the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
However, fiscal challenges continue to be a sensitive issue and the government is trying to meet its objectives approved in the framework of the IMF program, EBRD report evaluates. /ibna/
