European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), presented today in Pristina the Enterprise Expansion Fund (ENEF) which supports the private sector and the creation of new jobs.
Managing director for Central and Southeast Europe at EBRD, Jean Marc Peterschmitt said that EBRD’s objectives in Kosovo and the needs of the market meet with each other.
“I believe that this is an important event, because it relates to our scope in Kosovo and the need of this country to move forward”, said Peterschmitt.
Peterschmitt said that development must be sought on the employment of young people.
“The basis of economic development is the creation of new jobs and employment of young people in particular”, said he.
Meanwhile, Hykmete Bajrami, minister of Commerce and Industry, said that the aid package offered by EBRD must be considered as very important by all businesses in Kosovo, especially by the private sector.
“This package and this opportunity must be considered as important for all businesses in Kosovo”, said Bajrami.
She promised that the ministry that she leads will work more in order to support businesses in the private sector, in order to restore lost hope to the citizens of Kosovo.
Head of EBRD in Tirana, Fabio Serri explained the way in which the aid support will be provided by the Bank, by giving deadlines and investment amounts.
He invited businesses to visit EBRD offices and seek help.
“Today’s a chance to establish a contact and exchange information in order to see if cooperate in the future”, said Serri.
At the end of the conference, there was a detailed presentation of the support packages that EBRD offers.
The most important one is the package for business advice, through which businesses are supported and advised to be successful. /ibna/
