EBRD will help Kosovo’s economic development

Delegation of Kosovo, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, presided by the Minister of Finance, Avdullah Hoti, is participating in the regular annual meetings of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), taking place in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Besides the participation in the plenary session of EBRD, minister Hoti has also held meetings with EBRD president, Suma Chakrabati, heads of Kosovo office, Sean Donald and Ove Juensen, EBRD Regional Director, Massa Bernucci and the head of operations at OFID, Anajulia Taylhardat.

Minister Hoti said that these meetings discussed different projects in the domain of railways, rehabilitation of regional roads and the provision of the guarantee for urban traffic in the Commune of Pristina.

He said that these meetings also discussed about the economic and financial developments in the country, the challenges in this domain, technical assistance and other similar issues.

“These meetings have praised the progress achieved so far in Kosovo and promises have been made that these institutions will help Kosovo”, Hoti declared.

In the meeting of the governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, minister Hoti has expressed on behalf of the government of Kosovo the support for the new strategy of EBRD, which involves a bigger support for the private sector and dialogue for economic policies. /ibna/
