Pristina, May 6, 2013, by Tinka Kurti-Police of Kosovo have arrested the much wanted and renowned drug lord of the Balkan and Europe, Naser Kelmendi. This was confirmed by the police of Kosovo, which also states that Kelmendi is under custody. Another person, initialed F.N, has been arrested along with Kelmendi.
An international arrest warrant had been issued for Kelmendi, whereas F.N has been arrested under the suspicion of assisting the wanted person.
Last year, police of Kosovo had mistakenly arrested a person who resembled to Kelmendi. Kelmendi is 55 years of age, Kosovo national, born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the Treasury Department, he’s suspected of leading one of the most powerful Albanian criminal families in the Balkan. It’s been a while that he has been suspected of leading a large organization that deals in the trafficking of heroin, cocaine and acetic anhydrite, a raw substance used in the production of heroin, which is transported to Europe from the Balkan region. /ibna/
