Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income signed Cyprus and Iran in Nicosia, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Tax Administration of Iran Ali Asghar.
On behalf of the Republic of Cyprus the Agreement was signed by Finance Minister Haris Georgiades, while later in the afternoon, the two officials will attend an event of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in which there will be a presentation of business and economic prospects in Iran, after the lifting of the embargo.
In earlier statements to CNA, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Cyprus Reza Zabib had stated that the agreement is expected to pave the way for the strengthening of the business and economic relations between the two countries.
Business circles had also spoken of the opening of investment inflow perspectives from Iran to Cyprus.
