The 13th edition of the International Festival of Documentary Short Films “Dokufest” started in Prizren during the weekend.
The first night saw the presentation of eight films and documentaries, while 228 films from 42 countries in six competing programs will be presented until the end of this activity.
USA is the country with most films this year, with 30 of them, including several classical documentaries such as Harlan County USA by Barbara Kopple, Hoop Dreams by Steve James and Hearts and Minds by Peter Davis.
A large number of movie makers, producers and professionals are expected to participate in this festival and among them are Richard Pierce and Lynzee Klingman, one of the editors of Hearts and Minds. Christian Frei, director of Sleepless in New York, Marilyn Ness, producer of 1971 and E-TEAM and many others from the region and abroad.
The theme of this festival is migration, its context in the global context and its consequences, which will be discussed in a number of activities, including panels and debates. /ibna/
