Dobritoiu, involved in investigation into staff accommodation for Generals

The PNL Senator claims that the DNA investigation in which his name appears reemerges in a “political context” that may have something to do with information on changes at the helm of the Defence Ministry.

According to judiciary sources quoted by Mediafax, PNL Senator Corneliu Dobritoiu (former Defence Minister) has come to the attention of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors in a case in which several army cadres, including generals, are investigated for the way in which staff accommodations were offered. DNA prosecutors have started to prosecute General (ret.) Traian Pigui, suspected of malfeasance in office for the way in which he approved several requests for staff accommodations. Thus, DNA announced that Traian Pigui is investigated for his involvement, as head of the MoD’s Infrastructure Directorate, in the illegal offering of staff accommodations that were bought at a subsidized price by army cadres that held leadership positions.
