Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa and Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, are expected to meet next week (25.08) in Brussels to continue the talks between Kosovo and Serbia a few years ago.
No time is expected to be wasted in the meeting set up by the head of the European diplomacy, Federica Mogherini and several agreements are expected to be signed.
According to officials of the government of Kosovo, the talks are expected to finalize the agreements for the freedom of movement, energy, telephone country code, which has been finalized, but if there are no regrets and then we will have the issue of bridge over Iber river”, PM Mustafa said.
According to him, Pristina has manifested its positioning in relation to these issues and has sent them to Brussels.
The issue of the Association of Serb majority communes seems to be the most difficult point in the talks between Kosovo and Serbia. The Serb side has demanded for this association to have executive powers, but Pristina has categorically rejected this demand.
According to the Kosovo government, the Association must function under the laws of Kosovo without executive powers.
However, it will be the office of the head of the European diplomacy, Federica Mogherini the one to be engaged on this issue for a solution through compromise.
Although there are no details as to the powers of the association of the Serb communes, the largest opposition party in Kosovo, Self Determination, has warned protests and other measures against any association of Serb communes. /ibna/
