Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri has declared that dialogue with Belgrade can continue once the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj is released and returns to Kosovo and once parliament revokes the Resolution for the Suspension of Talks.
Tahiri made these comments after reporting in front of the Committee for Stabilization and Association.
“Once the suspension of talks is revoked (by the Parliament of Kosovo) when leader of AAK is released, then Kosovo must continue to deliver its Stabilization and Association Agreement obligations and the Brussels’ dialogue”, Tahiri declared.
The head of Kosovo’s delegation in the talks held in Brussels said that she will fully respect the Resolution adopted by Parliament for the suspension of dialogue with Belgrade, until Ramush Haradinaj is released. Haradinaj was arrested by French authorities on 4 January based on an arrest warrant issued by Serbia through Interpol.
Haradinaj is currently held in Colmar, France, awaiting a court ruling about his extradition to Serbia. Serb Special Prosecution claims that Haradinaj has committed war crimes, while Haradinaj and institutions in Pristina say that this is a politically motivated process by Belgrade. /balkaneu.com/
