Deputy prime minister of Serbia explains the reasons why the Serb minority must participate in the elections

Pristina, November 13, 2013

Deputy prime minister of Serbia, Aleksander Vucic has sent a message to Serbs where he has urged them to participate in the second round of the local government elections in Kosovo which will be held on Sunday.

Mr. Vucic said on Wednesday that the results of the elections must be a strong blow for the prime minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci.

“Leposavic saw the same participation of voters as in the Serb parliamentary or presidential elections and the same thing has taken place in Zubin Potok and Zvecan. Northern Mitrovica has been a problem, but we cannot force anyone to participate in the elections”, said Mr. Vucic.

Serbian deputy prime minister said that Belgrade respects its citizens, but he has reminded them that they cannot do anything without this state.

Mr. Vucic said that prime minister Thaci has lost and launched an accusation: “The scope has been to prevent the creation of the Union of Serb Communes in order for elections to fail in the four northern communes and the other two communes in the south of Iber”. /ibna/
