The opening of the new offices of New Democracy in Moschato made on Thursday morning the president of the party Kyriakos Mitsotakis, convening there the “morning coffee meeting”.
Mitsotakis said in a statement that a new period begins for ND with the opening of the new building in Moschato.
He noted that it was one of his commitments before he was elected and that he puts into practice his commitments, adding that “arranges his ‘house’ affairs so he can go on and settle the country’s affairs”.
He wished for the new headquarters of the party to bring luck, while to a question whether he sees early elections, he replied that “will see to these matters later”.
Also present in the opening of the new offices were the party spokesman Giorgos Koumoutsakos and the close associates of the president, who participated in the “morning coffee”.
This marks the second move of the ND party offices within five years. In 2011, the then party president Antonis Samaras decided the transfer of the offices from the neoclassical building in Rigilis street, to the modern offices in Syggrou Avenue, in an effort to renew and modernize the party apparatus. But the expensive rent and the reduction of both the party’s revenues and the government subsidies brought economic deadlock with several unpaid rents.
