The issue of demarcation with Montenegro has heated up the political discourse of the Kosovo opposition. The founder of Self Determination, Albin Kurti has issued quiet an uncommon declaration relating to this process. The latter  said that there would be war in Kosovo if the current version of demarcation with Montenegro passes.

“According to the government’s formula, the demarcation of border with Montenegro is a formula for war. I believe that this demarcation version causes conflicts, war and bloodshed with Montenegro”, he said.

Kurti’s declaration was sparked by the strong reactions issued by the heads of the state and the representatives of minorities in Kosovo.

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci declared that Kurti’s calls for war are ridiculous, absurd and dangerous.

“This man has lost his reasoning. I think that his calls for war and conflict are ridiculous, absurd, dangerous and unacceptable. What’s more, Kosovo’s freedom and independence has put an end to last century’s bloody wars”, he said.

Former minister for Returns and Communities in the government of Kosovo, Aleksandar Jablanovic, has considered Kurti’s declarations unacceptable.

Jablanovic said that KFOR and EULEX must react after this declaration issued by Kurti.

“The war that Albin Kurti mentions will not find Serbs unprepared  and instead of arresting Kurti, they retort with him as to whether there will be a war or not”, he said.

Jablanovic said that the declarations issued by the former leader of Self Determination encourage war.

“The open threats for war in Kosovo will organize Serbs on a higher level of alert in the future”, he said. /
