The EU has opened its gates for Kosovo, but the country must conduct the necessary reforms. Border demarcation with Montenegro remains a condition for the liberalization of the visa regime.
This has been the message given by the General Secretary of the European Service for Foreign Action, Helga Schimdt for PM Haradinaj, after a meeting held with him.
According to her, organized crime and corruption continue to be the main objectives that Kosovo must deliver.
“Our door is open for Kosovo and the necessary reforms must be made. We know about the need of the liberalization of visas for the citizens of Kosovo, but you need to push forward for the ratification of the demarcation deal and fight against corruption”, Schimdt said.
According to her, the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement is absolutely necessary, because it relates to the improvement of standards in Kosovo.
As far as dialogue with Serbia is concerned, she says that both countries must advance in the best interest of the stability in the region.
Meanwhile, PM Haradinaj said that Kosovo is determined to implement its obligations. /balkaneu.com/
