The Greek state asset development fund (HRADF or TAIPED) officially announced the new tender for TRAINOSE. Interested parties wishing to participate in the tender process for TRAINOSE should express their interest from February 1st and by no later than March 21st. The deadline for submission of the binding offers must take place by April 26.
The previous tender for railway service operator TRAINOSE was disappointing. Sources say that new interested parties expressed their interest in the meantime, but were not ready within the limits of the deadline of the previous tender. Other sources also claim that interested parties did not want to participate until intercompany contracts clarified the exact relations and obligations between TRAINOSE and its subsidiaries – something that was done just a week ago. The main interested party now seems to be COSCO, since the acquisition of the Piraeus Port Authority. Now the Chinese will be interested in also ustilising the greek train network (freight trains) for their containers with destinations other European countries.
