Five dead and two wounded in an accident in the east of FYR Macedonia

5 people have died and two others are in a critical state after being involved in tragic road accident taken place in the east of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

IBNA correspondent reports that the accident has taken place last night in the road that links Manastir (Bitola) to Prilep, near Loznani, in the eastern part of the country.

According to police, the accident took place at 9.30 pm, when two cars were involved in a fatal crash. As a result, 5 of the passengers lost their life and two of them were rushed in a critical condition to the hospital of Manastir.

One of the cars was coming from Krusheva and the other from Skopje. Both vehicles had family members in them.

Police declared that the accident has taken place as a result of the wet conditions on the road and the high speed of the vehicles.

Due to this serious accident, this road segment remained closed for circulation until the morning. /ibna/
