Cyprus was shaken at 17.21 local time on Saturday by a fairly strong earthquake that was measured at 6.3 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was of local magnitude.
According to the Geological Survey Department, the earthquake was recorded by the Seismological Network in the Antalya Gulf 188 km north-west of Pafos, with a focal depth of 11 km.
The main districts where the earthquake was felt were Pafos, Lemesos, Nicosia and Larnaka.
