By Michalis Michael

With a simple post on Twitter, Cyprus’ Finance Minister Harris Georgiades announced that the Republic of Cyprus has repaid the EUR 1.58bn loan the country received from Russia in 2011.

“The Russian loan of EUR 1.58 bn, taken under the previous governance, has been fully repaid just now. Cyprus can now easily finance its needs from international markets”, the Cyprus Ministry of Finance wrote.

It should be noted that one of the first to rush to congratulate Harris Georgiades was Adonis Georgiades, Development Minister and Vice President of ND with a “well done” post onTwitter./ibna
