Cyprus nominates Stella Kyriakidou for Commissioner

She will replace Christos Stylianidis

The nomination of Sterla Kyriakidou as Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus was proposed by the Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades to the President of the European Commission, Mrs Ursula von der Leyen.

According to the announcement of the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus, President of the Republic Mr Nikos Anastasiades contacted the President of the European Commission Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen yesterday and suggested that she appoints Mrs. Stella Kyriakidou as new Commissioner from the Republic of Cyprus.

Mrs. Kyriakidou will take up the position of Mr. Stylianidis, with the same portfolio, as Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management./ibna
