Cypriot Defense Minister Charalambos Petrides is heading to Berlin to participate in the informal meeting of the EU Defense Ministers on Wednesday 26 August 2020.
The meeting is expected to tap on issues related to the Union’s Common Defense and Security Policy, as well as on strengthening unity and solidarity between Member States. The Ministers of Defense will have the opportunity to discuss developments concerning the “Strategic Compass”, a process aimed at strengthening the Union’s capacity to provide security around the world and to act autonomously in the field of defense and security.
Finally, Charalambos Petrides will raise once again the issue of Turkey’s illegal actions in the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus. /ibna
