President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades chaired today at the Presidential Palace a meeting of the National Council.
The meeting was also attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Health, as well as Greek-Cypriot Negotiator for the Cyprus problem Andreas Mavroyiannis.
During the meeting, President Anastasiades briefed the members of the National Council on the preparations for the informal Cyprus talks in Geneva on 27-29 April convened by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and on the work produced to date on specific issues.
He also briefed on the program and structure of the informal conference as defined by the United Nations, and further analyzed the objectives and strategy to be followed by the Cypriot side at the informal Geneva talks.
The President of the Republic will leave for Geneva on the morning of April 26, accompanied by the leaders of the political parties.
Moreover, during the meeting of the National Council, the President briefed the members of the National Council on the current situation in the country in relation to the coronavirus pandemic, as well as on the framework of measures the Government is planning to take. /ibna
