President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades arrived in Ukraine on Thursday for an official visit, during which he will meet with the President and Prime Minister of Ukraine. Bilateral agreements and protocols will also be signed.
The President is accompanied by his wife, Antri Anastasiades. Participating in the mission are Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, Deputy Government Spokesman Victoras Papadopoulos, and other officials.
According to a press release, on Friday President Anastasiades will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kiev, and will also lay a wreath at the Holodomor Memorial, where he will attend a ceremony in memory of the victims of Holodomor.
Later on, he will be officially received at the Presidential Palace by President Petro Poreshenko, with whom he will have a meeting, followed by extended talks between the delegations of the two countries.
On the sidelines of the talks, bilateral agreements and protocols of understanding will be signed.
Furthermore, President Anastasiades will address a forum organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and will meet with Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine`s national parliament, Volodymyr Groysman.
