Cypriot government follows international developments that affect Cyprus problem closely

Cyprus’s Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou informed reporters that the country’s leadership is  aware and closely monitors all international developments that affect the Cyprus problem and relate to it, “reiterating that the focus right now is on the initiative by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres through his envoy Jane Holl Lute and the resumption of talks”, CNA reported.

According to a press release by the Cypriot presidency, the government spokesman was talking to the press, after a meeting Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades had with Education and Culture Minister Kostas Champiaouris at the presidential residence in Troodos.

In a question regarding to the U.S.A.-Turkey tensions and how possible it would be that they affect developments in the Cyprus reunification process, Prodromou said that “naturally, we monitor international developments and in particular international developments which would affect actors and protagonists in the Cyprus problem.”…. / IBNA
