On Monday, Cypriot Defence Minister, Savvas Angelides, travels to Brussels to take part in the work of the Foreign Affairs Council in the composition of Defense Ministers.
The work of the Council will begin with the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) module. Within the framework of this section, in which Cyprus participates amongst other 25 Member States, Ministers will have the opportunity to assess the progress achieved in specific areas.
The works will then continue with the Unity in the fields of Security and Defense as well as on ongoing initiatives in the context of the implementation of the Global EU Strategy.
The third theme concerns Missions and Businesses of the Common Security and Defense Policy, focusing on the three non-executive missions.
The work will be completed with a working lunch where an exchange of views on the state of implementation of the EU-NATO cooperation will take place./IBNA
