The theater play “Hamlet, Who?” was put on stage on Wednesday evening at the EU Information Center in Skopje. This play was hosted on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare.
The show is a cooperation between EU Delegation and British Council, who are holding a number of events with the topic “[email protected]”.
Opening speeches were held at the start of the show by the EU ambassador to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Aivo Orav and the British ambassador, Christopher Ivon.
“We’re celebrating this day which belongs to a world famous personality, who has inspired entire generations that have experienced Shakespeare’s works”, declared EU ambassador Orav.
This event was also accompanied with the exhibition “20 years of Shakespeare”, consisting of the photos of the show and its preparation in the past.
Activities for the 450th anniversary of the birth of Shakespeare continue with the competition for the best one minute video on Shakespeare. The competition is open for all of those who want to perform Shakespeare’s works for one minute. The video can be inspired by Shakespeare or any other of his plays. /ibna/
