All three Croatian representatives in Europa League Hajduk, Split and Rijeka managed last night to reach the third round of the competition.
RNK Split footballers secured their place in the third qualifying round of Europa League after they played against the Israeli team Hapoel from Be’er Sheva without goals in the second leg.
In the first match in Split they celebrated with a 2-1 win and they’ll play against the Ukrainian Chornomorets in the third qualifying round.
The match was played in the Cypriot city of Larnaca since UEFA banned playing matches in Israel because of war conditions in the country.
Up until the final minutes of the rematch with the Irish Dundalk, Hajduk fans were holding their breath, but in the end they managed to get to the next round even though they lost last night at home with score 1:2.
In the third qualifying round Hajduk is going on a demanding and dangerous visit to Kazakhstan to play Shakhter on July 31, with the second game in Split on August 7.
Only one goal kept Irish away from a total sensation and Hajduk of great shame, but still it managed to keep its net and passage to the end.
After the first game on Kantrida where Rijeka barely beat Ferencvaros 1-0 with Krstanovic’s goal in the closing moments of the match, in the second leg of the second qualifying round of the Europa League in Budapest last night, Hungary players were topped with 2:1.
In the next round Rijeka will play against Vikingur of the Faroe Islands, who threw out Tromso from Norway.
