Kosovo’s PM, Isa Mustafa declared today that next week, parliament will make the necessary constitutional amendments for the creation of the Special Tribunal.
Mustafa said that the failure to establish this tribunal would be a great failure for Kosovo, as it would take the country back to 1999.
“We have expressed our commitment for the establishment of the Special Tribunal last year, while now, we will make it concrete. At the end of this week or next week, we will proceed with the necessary Constitutional changes which will enable the creation of this tribunal. It’s a process that we will overcome. Therefore, I hope that MPs will back it”, Mustafa declared.
“The failure to establish this court would be a great danger and this would take us back to 1999. But we’re not interested on going back”, Mustafa said.
This tribunal, which by a part of the opposition is seen as an attempt to damage the image of the liberating war and Kosovo, will deliberate the accusations articulated by the former Swiss senator, Dick Marty, which allege that members of KLA have committed crimes during the last war of Kosovo. /ibna/
