The chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Jean Claude Mignon continues his official visit to Skopje. Today he’s expected to hold a speech in the parliament of the country, while yesterday, he held a meeting with the speaker of parliament, Trajko Veljanovski.
Mignon has stressed that the scope of this visit is to assess the developments in the country and the fulfillment of the obligations of this country in the EU integration aspect, but also to examine the post-monitoring report of the Council of Europe on FYR Macedonia. The chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe also met yesterday with the president of the country, Gjorgje Ivanov and with the heads of parliamentary groups. Mignon hasn’t issued a press release, but sources inform that these meetings have discussed political developments, the finalization of local government elections, implementation of Ohrid Agreement and the name dispute with Greece.
Today Mignon is expected to meet with Prime Minister Gruevski and the two deputy prime ministers, Musa Xhaferri and Fatmir Besimi. /ibna/
