At the end of the three day visit in our country, European Council rapporteur on Albania, Jonathan Evans and delegation accompanying him delivered a press conference, where they stopped on the meetings held with senior politicians of the country.
Evans said that he hoped the government majority would fulfill its engagements, stressing that the visit was held at a time when Albania is expected to be granted the EU candidate status.
“We praise the progress that has been made, but we’d like to stress that corruption was one of the main topics of our meetings. We noticed that the new government has made fight against corruption a priority. Albania has passed many strategic laws, but their implementation remains a concern. The concrete result will be the one that will count in the end”, said Evans. /ibna/
