An anti-narcotics police chief in Albania has ended up behind bars along with his subordinates.
This has taken place in Fier, one of the biggest cities after the capital.
Internal Audit executed an order of the Court of Serious Crimes by arresting Dritan Zagani, head of Anti Narcotics at the Police of Fier.
Zagani is charged with abuse in the line of duty. “His arrest was made in the framework of cracking down a criminal group which dealt in the traffic of narcotics”, official sources of the ministry of Interior told IBNA. The inquest on this matter continues in cooperation with the Prosecution of Serious Crimes.
Subject to the wave of arrests were also the officers of the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Police of Fier. Internal Audit executed a court decision and arrested three agents of this department on the charge of passive corruption. They are Bledar Stavri Naci, Bernard Esat Fejza and Gramoz Kujtim Feska.
The abuse with the money of ordinary citizens in the form of corruption has been the reason why these persons were targeted by the operation launched by their colleagues. /ibna/
