Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides, in the framework of his participation in the 72nd UN General Assembly in New York, attended a high-level meeting, under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, on combating sexual exploitation and abuse, yesterday.
Minister Kasoulides has further participated in the Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the International Organization of La Francophonie. In his intervention, Minister Kasoulides underlined the need for taking collective action and international cooperation based on the international law, in order for the common goals that will contribute to an enhanced security and development in the Francophonie area to be achieved.
Minister Kasoulides has also represented the Republic of Cyprus at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the EU Member States, held in the presence of the new Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Mr Ghassan Salame.
Mr Kasoulides also attended a reception in honour of the Greek Foreign Minister, Mr Nikos Kotzias, hοsting by the President of the World Jewish Congress, Mr Ronald S. Lauder./IBNA
