The 400 KW interconnection line linking FYR Macedonia to Serbia will soon start to be built. The start of the project was announced by Macedonian Transmission System Operator (MESPO), while one of the stations will be in Stip near the border with Serbia and the other one in the Serb city of Vranje. The value of investment is 9,7 million Euro and the length of the line is 70 km, starting from Stip to Kumanovo near the Serb border.
MEPSO said that this interconnection high voltage line will be important due to the electro-energy connections with Serbia, the improvement of transmission capacities and it will have an impact in the development of the market between the two countries and the regional market of electric energy.
In the framework of this project, a transformer has been built in Stip with a value of 13 million Euros and the new interconnection line will be lined with this transformer. /ibna/
