The Constitutional Court in Albania has quashed today the request sent by President of Republic, Bujar Nishani to abolish the law on properties.
During today’s session of the Constitutional Court, the representative of the Democratic Party, Oerd Bylykbashki said that the law only provides physical compensation for properties and that it doesn’t recognize the concept of the return of property. “The bill takes properties back to the communist regime”, Bylykbashi said.
The property law has started its effect following the decision of the government to approve a 24 million USD fund for the compensation of former owners.
President of Republic, Bujar Nishani didn’t decree this law by sending it back to parliament, while addressing to the Constitutional Court to demand its abolition. /balkaneu.com/
