Leader of the Democratic Party in Albania, Lulzim Basha called on all phone companies to comply with the Constitution and not submit personal data of the citizens, otherwise, the opposition will launch a criminal and civil lawsuit against them.
“Democratic Party calls on all mobile phone companies in Albania to comply with the Constitution and not submit personal data of their subscribers to Edi Rama, otherwise they will face criminal and civil lawsuits”, said Basha.
Basha also called on the citizens not to divulge their data. “DP calls on every Albanian not to divulge their personal information and defend their privacy”, said Basha.
Earlier, he said that in Rama’s opinion, starting from tomorrow, every Albanian who owns a mobile phone must submit the IMEI code, which shows their personal information.
“Rama wants to create a register of personal data and kill privacy. He wants to know who talks, who sends messages and what Albanians think”, said the head of DP.
According to Basha, after putting independent institutions under control, Edi Rama wants to put the privacy of Albanian people under scrutiny.
“We will organize a massive boycott. We invite the media and civil society to react against this act. Privacy is sacred, guaranteed by the Constitution and deserves to be protected at every condition”, said Basha. /ibna/
