The two main parties of the governing coalition in Kosovo, Democratic Party of Kosovo and Democratic League of Kosovo, have agreed for 11 February to be the date on which parliament votes their consensual candidate, Hashim Thaci.
Mr. Thaci is currently deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Kosovo.
The agreement of the two parties also involves changes in the government. The two parties have also agreed on reshuffling the government cabinet.
The minister of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs will change, but officially, there are no details on the new names that will be involved in PM Isa Mustafa’s government cabinet. Current president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga earlier confirmed that she will not run for another term as head of the state of Kosovo.
