It didn’t take long for the owner of Steaua Bucharest football club to find a new coach, after Mirel Radoi’s resignation. Laurentiu Reghecampf today started his second “mandate” on Steaua’s bench and has big ambitions. As one of the team’s most popular coaches, who won two consecutive titles in the 2013 and 2014, Reghecampf admitted that the team is going through some rough times but vowed to do his best to put it back on a winning track.
“At the moment, the main concern is to reduce the distance separating us from the Championship’s leader Astra Giurgiu. We’ll try do talk less and cause less conflicts. What we need are new points and to win this championship. The players know what to do – all they have to do is play football and we’ll take care of the rest”, Reghecampf said today at his first press conference.
Steaua is now in 5th place, 10 points behind Astra.
Before accepting owner Gigi Becali’s offer to return to Steaua, Reghecampf was on the bench of Bulgarian team Litex Lovech. Before that, he had coached Saudi team Al-HIlal for one year.
