Representatives from civil society in FYROM have called for massive protests on May 17 against the current government.
The so called “Citizens for Macedonia” coalition, said that they request the resignation of the government and the election of an interim government to overcome the serious crisis that is ruling the country.
“For 9 years in a row, we have demanded for this government to be improved, but it has ignored cooperation with the non government sector. Therefore, we ask this government to resign and for an interim government to be formed”, said the activist of civil society, Marjan Zabrcanec.
Petrit Saracini, journalist and activist of human rights called on the citizens to join in the May 17 protest. “For years, this government has not heard the requests of the citizens. On the contrary, it has been totalitarian and it has always served the clients’ interests”, declared Saracini.
He also said that the government must give up on its calls for counter protests on May 18. /ibna/
