Citizens of FYROM are still seeking asylum in EU member countries. According to the European Asylum Seekers Office (EASO), in August, there were around 350 citizens from FYROM who applied for asylum in EU member countries. Meanwhile, 919 people are still waiting on a response for their asylum application.
In July, there were 351 asylum applications from citizens of FYROM, while in 2017 this number was 505.
Asylum seekers from Serbia, FYROM and Tajikistan are among the largest in number in EU asylum centers, but only 1% of them have been granted asylum as opposed to 48 thousand demands made in the month of August. /ibna/
