The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, is in Brussels since Sunday night, where he will participate today in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union.
Arriving at the meeting, Nikos Christodoulides stated that “our reaction to any kind of violation of basic values and principles can not be à la carte. It must be consistent. I believe that there are no deadlocks in Diplomacy. I am here, I am ready to implement the political decision we reached in Gymnich”.
During the meeting, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy will brief the Foreign Ministers on current developments in Turkey, Lebanon, China and Russia, followed by a discussion on these issues.
The agenda also includes the situation in Libya in light of the latest developments, preparations for the forthcoming EU-African Union Foreign Ministers meeting, developments in Belarus and the future of the EU’s relationship with the countries of the Southern Neighborhood./ibna
