FYR Macedonia, as chair of the Central European Initiative (CEI) for 2015, will host today the oldest forum for European integration.
Present in this meeting are foreign ministers and heads of delegations of CEI member countries such as FYROM, Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Moldova, Kosovo, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia and Ukraine, while there are also special participants from the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe, etc.
Last November, FYROM took over CEI’s chairmanship from Austria, following the forum held in Vienna. In the framework of this chairmanship, FYROM’s priorities have focused on regional development and economic cooperation, development of infrastructure, tourism, agriculture and culture.
CEI has started to operate in 1989, while today it has 18 member countries and the majority of them are from Southeast Europe.
In the framework of this meeting, the president of the country, George Ivanov has warned several meetings with foreign ministers of the participating countries. /ibna/
