The chairwoman of the Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka received in a meeting the chairman of the Kosovar Forum for Disabled People, Bujar Kadriu, who was accompanied by the vice chairman of this forum, Enver Kurtalani.
This meeting discussed about the facilities needed to be offered for the election process and the participation of disabled people in the polls for the early parliamentary elections.
Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka said that CEC is one of the fewest institutions in the region which offers visually impaired people the possibility to vote through Brail writing.
This project, in cooperation with the Association of Visually Impaired Persons, will be implemented in the early elections for the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo.
The meeting also discussed the facilities that need to be offered for disabled people to vote and especially to offer equal chances for the community of deaf people in Kosovo, in order for them to have access to the electoral process through sign language.
The head of the Kosovar Forum for Disabled People, Bujar Kadriu thanked the Central Election Commission for the work that has been done in offering these facilities in these elections. /ibna/
