Catherine Ashton, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, will travel to Albania on Tuesday, in the framework her Western Balkans tour this week.
In Albania, she will meet with President of Republic, Bujar Nishani, Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Chair of the Socialist Party Edi Rama.
Ashton will start her visit to the region in Montenegro and from there continue to Albania and former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Further stops of the visit will be announced at a later stage.
“I travel to the Western Balkans to reinforce the EU’s commitment to the European perspective for the countries in the region. I will encourage the leaders in the region to continue the reform process and promote good neighbourly relations,” said Catherine Ashton on the eve of her visit. /ibna/
