Cash registers with electronic logs by September 1 for Romanian businesses

Romania’s Finance Ministry announced on Monday, August 13 that until September 1st, all big and medium-sized companies in the country will have to equip themselves with cash registers with electronic logs, with small taxpayers given more time until November 1st, highlighting that the new deadlines are final.

This way, the ministry wishes “to reduce tax evasion and provide a fair competition for all retailers”, romania-insider.com reads.

At first, the plan said the big and medium companies should have their cash registers with electronic logs by June 1st, 2018 whereas small ones by August 1st but “the government issued an emergency ordinance and postponed the implementation deadline by three months.”…. / IBNA
