The Albanian government has launched a campaign of awareness among the population in order to deter them from seeking asylum in the European Union member countries. This measure was prompted by the discouraging figures that the European Institute of Statistics (Eurostat) has recently published in relation to the growth of the number of Albanian asylum seekers in EU member countries.
It was the deputy minister of Interior, Rovena Voda which has come out on the ground and has closely followed the work being done by Border Police in Mother Teresa Airport for the prevention of asylum seekers.
“Today, through these leaflets that will be provided to all Albanian travelers, we want to encourage them to abide by all the criteria of free movement in the EU member countries, in order for Albania not to feel threatened by the phenomenon of asylum seekers, which has been pointed out as a concern by several EU member countries”, deputy minister Voda said. /balkaneu.com/
