Campaign to raise awareness about cancers

A campaign has been launched in FYROM in order to raise awareness on cancer and preventing it on time.

The campaign is being held by the association for the fight against cancer “Borka”, which started with the slogan “Do you want to help?”.

“Every Tuesday, in the three coming weeks, a workshop will take place in the mall, along with lectures, humanitarian activities in order to raise the awareness on breast cancer, cancer on the uterus and testicles”, said the head of “Borka” association, Biba Dodeva.

According to her, every year, there are 800 new patients with lung cancer, while the number of women with breast cancer has risen. According to the data of the Ministry of Health, the number of women affected by breast cancer amounts to one thousand and that the spreading of this illness is a concern for the health authorities.

Smoking is thought to be the main cause of cancer, while other factors relate to alcohol, obesity, poor consumption of vegetables, pollution of environment, etc. /ibna/
