Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati received in a meeting today the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz, in the framework of his visit to Tirana.
The meeting discussed issues that relate to the advancement of Albania in its European agenda, the EU membership candidate status, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and the recent developments in the region along with international ones.
Minister Bushati and his Austrian counterpart praised the excellent relations between the two countries and said that there exists a strong will to boost these relations even further in the domain of justice, banking system, energy and tourism.
Bushati praised the role that Austria has played in supporting Albania in its EU perspective and also thanked his counterpart for Austria’s incentive in encouraging member countries to grant Albania the status in the June summit.
He also praised the importance of the visit of the Austrian president to Tirana and said that it helped in further boosting bilateral relations, while the inclusion of the Business Forum in the agenda of this visit as a very important dimension to strengthen economic and trade relations.
On his part, minister Kurz said that his visit to Albania is an indicator of the strong relations between the two countries, intensification of political dialogue and that it benefits a positive regional approach. He said that Austria has supported and continues to support Albania for its EU membership candidate status and its EU perspective. /ibna/
