Bulgarian President on official visit in Montenegro

The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, hosted at his residence in Cetinje, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev. The two presidents said that relations between the two countries are on the high end and they should be enhancing better economic cooperation. Therefore, the two Presidents in Podgorica will be hosts for businessmen from the two countries.

The meeting between the Presidents of Montenegro and Bulgaria in the honorary Montenegrin capital Cetinje is a sign of good relations between the two countries. The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, said that relations between the two countries on the highest political level.

These good bilateral relations will result in a concrete cooperation. The President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović, said that he received assurances from his Bulgarian counterpart that they will help Montenegro in the European and NATO integration. Bulgaria will be an advocate of Montenegro, it will work on the rapid and efficient integration and on the international scene. Bulgaria understands all too well the meaning of a membership in the EU and NATO, said Plevneliev. He pointed out that Bulgaria during the process of its integration has increased its economic development and investment. I am grateful to the Bulgarian politicians who made the wise decision for Bulgaria to join the EU and NATO. The integration into the European Union is a historic opportunity, not only for Montenegro, but for our house, for our home, for the Balkans, said the President of Bulgaria.

They also discussed NATO integration and expectations of Montenegro for the forthcoming NATO summit – an invitation for NATO membership. I have a meeting in Vienna, Berlin, Brussels, London, where I will appeal and will work towards bringing politically courageous decisions as quickly as possible.

It is also important for NATO, as it needs to show that their vision is a system that is open to integration, concluded the President of Bulgaria.

Vujanović has also explained the importance of NATO integration. He pointed out that the benefits of NATO are not only in terms of security. We heard information that the macro-economic indicators for the past ten years in Bulgaria increased by two or three times. People simply live better after the integration into NATO. Bulgaria is even more attractive and appealing because it is a NATO member; it is safer, economically more secure and more interesting for all investments, and this is how it will be for Montenegro.

To encourage businessmen of the two countries to cooperate, the two Presidents in Podgorica will host entrepreneurs of Montenegro and Bulgaria. Meeting at the Chamber of Commerce will be an opportunity for contacts and the announcement of better economic cooperation between the two countries.
