Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva will receive the Special Representative of the Republic of North Macedonia for Bulgaria, Vladimir Buchkovski.
Following the talks at the Foreign Ministry, Ekaterina Zaharieva and Vladimir Buchkovski will hold a press conference.
This is the first official visit of the special envoy of the government of North Macedonia to resolve the dispute between Skopje and Sofia in the Bulgarian capital. Buchkovski will meet with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov. There will also be a meeting with President Rumen Radev on Thursday.
“I am coming at the invitation of the Bulgarian government. I come as your great friend and with good will”, Vlado Buchkovski told BGNES agency, one day before his visit.
The visit comes less than a week after the appointment of a special envoy of the government of North Macedonia to Bulgaria.

Vlado Buchkovski, 57, served as defense minister in Prime Minister Ljupco Gjeorgievski’s broad coalition cabinet from May 13 to November 26, 2001. From November 1, 2002, to December 2004, Buchkovski returned to government as Defence minister. He served as Prime Minister of North Macedonia from December 15, 2004 to August 26, 2006.
